Which airport should I fly into?
The closest airport is Naples International Airport (NAP)! It is also possible to fly into Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO), and transfer via plane or train. There are also many connecting flights to Naples through other major airports in Europe, including Munich (MUC) and Zurich (ZCH).
Passport Information
Please ensure that your passport is up to date before traveling! Your passport should not expire within 6 months of travel. For more information, visit: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/passport-help/faqs.html
Power/Travel Adapters
You will need a European travel adapter to charge/use your devices! This is a two prong adapter that is compatible with most places in Europe. However, you cannot plug high voltage devices into these adapters or convertors (hair dryers, steamers, irons, Dyson Air Wraps, etc.), unless the device specifically states it has a dual voltage plug and can be used with a converter.(Note: these items will not work with a standard travel adapter, a power converter is usually required). If you are interested in bringing these types of tools, look for options with a European power plug or options that have dual voltage that can be used for travel (it will usually be specified). For an iron/steamer, we plan on using the Nori Press (steam iron) with a power voltage converter.
How do I get to Amalfi?
Taxi: A&A’s preferred option is to take a taxi/car from Naples to Amalfi (this should cost around €150 depending on the amount of people/luggage). Please be aware that the traffic on the Amalfi Coast can get quite busy during the high season, so please leave enough time to account for traffic.
Ferry: There are many places to take the ferry from to arrive at the Amalfi port. The fastest way to get there is from Salerno but the ferry is also offered from Naples, Positano, Sorrento, and more.
Train: If you are coming from Rome, the high speed train can get you to Naples in around 1-2.5 hours. You can also take the train from Rome to Salerno in about 2-3.5 hours. From Salerno, there is a train to Vietri sul Mare (which is the closest train station to Amalfi). However, if you choose to take the train to Vietri sul Mare, you would still need to take a bus, taxi, or additional ferry to reach Amalfi. It makes more sense to take the ferry from Salerno to Amalfi.
I want to take a car from Naples, how should I arrange that?
In Naples, the official taxi drivers have a sheet with lists of prices between Naples and popular destinations in the Amalfi Coast. You can choose to take a taxi from the airport or train station (or if staying there, your hotel) in Naples. However, be careful not to get ripped off. You can also book a private transfer online (with websites like Viator or Daytrip). Many AirBnB hosts will also offer to arrange transport or porter service, if you need. If you are staying at a hotel (particularly the luxury hotels), you can also arrange transfer service directly through the hotel. Private transfers usually range between €150-€250, depending on the size of the group. If you are arriving to Naples between June 18-20, and are open to sharing a car with another person/group from our wedding, feel free to reach out to Alyssa or Anthony and we can see if anyone is arriving at the same time as you! If you would like the number to a private car service, please also reach out to us.
How do I get to the wedding?
We will have shuttles to/from the welcome party & the wedding. There will be central pick up locations based on the areas that people are staying in. (Please note that some locations are further than they look on the map. We grouped people the best we can but some locations may require some walking).
If you are staying in Amalfi or Conca dei Marini, you will be added to a what’s app group and a concierge will provide you with information for where & when the shuttles will be arriving. Please be on time, shuttles are being provided to pick up multiple guests so if you miss the shuttle we may not be able to provide another.
If you are in close walking distance to either event, information will be provided on how to reach the venue by foot.
